Why do I have blue eyes?

Both of my parents had green eyes all their life. Why are my eyes grayish-blue?
Why do I have blue eyes?
your grandparents must have had green eyes.
Why do I have blue eyes?
someone else in your family probably had them, your appearance comes from a huge gene pool, from your entire family.
Reply:its in your genes somewhere.
Reply:don%26#039;t you like them?

my friend has blue eyes but her parents has brown eyes and she told me that she got her eyes from her grandmother.
Reply:someone in your family must have blue eyes
Reply:Some one in your family from many generations ago must of had blue eyes.
Reply:blue eyes are a recessive trait so you%26#039;re more likely to have them if your parents dont but distant relatives of theirs do
Reply:It%26#039;s a recessive trait. Basically, you had a slim chance of getting blue eyes, and you did! That%26#039;s what happened to me. Both my parents have brown hair, and I have red!
Reply:Your parents must have the allele for blue eyes. Meaning, your grandparents or someone in your family line passed the gene to you. That%26#039;s cool. Blue eyes are rare but very pretty.
Reply:Genetics. Previous generation probably had them.
Reply:for example.. if your mom%26#039;s mom had blue eyes and her husband had green eyes. she was born with green but she still has blue genes in here. bam there u are
Reply:Genetics- It doesn%26#039;t have to be directly from your parents; it could have been from far back. :)
Reply:you should be celebrating!
Reply:Recesive genes. If either of your parents carry the recesive gene of blue eyes there is always a possibility you would have blue eyes. Genes are really confusing!!!
Reply:your genes isnt from your parents alone., u cn probably get it from your other relatives who has blue eyes.... ^^
Reply:cuz you%26#039;re hella lucky!

i love blue :]
Reply:well first of all grayish blue eyes r a pretty nice color %26amp; second it must have been from someone else in the family like an aunt, uncle, or grandparents
Reply:There could be many different reasons as to why your eyes are that colour. My aunt and uncle both have brown eyes. Their first 3 boys had brown eyes, then the little guy (4th boy!) has blue eyes and he%26#039;s 5 years old now, so they diffenetly wont change. My grandfather has blue eyes so we think thats where he gets it from.
Reply:your entire family can have green eyes and then have 2 kids, one with blue eye or one with green. it%26#039;s all in your genes.
Reply:you have to incorporate your parents and your grandparents on both sides eye colors to...then with a collective pool; whichever has the most dominant attributes comes out in you...And suprisingly if you have siblings their eye colors may be another colors form your own...
Reply:you inherited blue eyes from someone else in your family.
Reply:that can happen. genes
Reply:you%26#039;re gene pool is huge. its not just your parents. it%26#039;s your grandparents and great-grandparents and all that. brown is generally just a more dominant.

eye color is a trait just like every other one of your traits. if you looked at every aspect of your body, then you would see that you can%26#039;t possibly have everything just from your parents.

you could have great-uncle George%26#039;s nose, and great-great-grandma Lucile%26#039;s eyes. the trait just keeps on getting passed down. sometimes it%26#039;s dominant, and sometimes it isnt.
Reply:you%26#039;re adopted
